Noise? 52 power wagon transmission

Ok I have a noise in 3 gear that sounds like a deep growl or transmission sounds like it is eating itself when you let of the gas then when you get back on gas. I pulled transmission new bearings and overhaul kit new pilot bearing, new Ujoints, No new clutch or throw out bearing. Reinstalled still same noise. Ok pto? Pulled pto off installed blank plate drove again same noise. Sounds like something in transmission? Pulled out took apart nothing wrong. Fine I will pull transmission out of the 51 PW Installed that one has no pto same noise any ideas maby transfercase, Or clutch any ideas will help oh ya and it does not change if in 4 wheel drive or 2 or 4 low stops when clutch is pushed and you can barely hear the noise in 4th gear
