you did more than a thorough job! good results too. 1/2 a Qt is almost nothing. I parked a D300 with a poly 318 up at my buddies place in the central cascades at about 3000' elevation on the shady side of the mountain where he gets as much snow as you would normally get at 6000'. after just 1 winter there was enough water in the pan to where the oil was coming out of the valve cover! had to be at least 3 gallons. I didn't know and ran it that way for about 25 minutes while moving it around and onto trailer. I must have spent 150 bucks on flushing that thing out.......
I was amazed at the amount of water it took in. He told me that happens to anything he parks up there through the winter.
