Just that it is sized and bent to fit into the correct factory locations. No reason any of the above options shouldn't work as long as you pick a point where you get the correct flow.

If you really wanted to get cool you could just install a separate cooling loop. It's done fairly regularly on the aftermarket supercharger setups, and even some of the factory ones, so electric pumps and such are available. It's more compact and flexible than air-air, but more complicated too.

I should try and rig up some temp probes on my intercooler, just to see if it's doing anything, but still need to build a better radiator shroud to help force air through the condenser and intercooler on my setup yet.
