Looking for a light-duty (40 amp?) plasma cutter. I'm happy to cut thick stuff with my good old Victor torch. Just need something that will cut stainless and aluminum 1/8" or less, and do a neat job of cutting 1/4" steel. I'm liking the Thermal Dynamics cutmaster 42 but would like to hear from those who have used them, or other recommendations. Can't afford to go much over $1000, including the torch unit. Reliability is more important than cutting depth, as these things are way too complicated inside for even me to fix by myself. Cost and availability of consumables also matter, of course.
