"Copper acetoarsenate" is the full name. I actually got a bottle of it somewhere. It's what we used to call "driver's license office" green in Washington, or maybe a slightly paler version of "forest service truck" green. I remember reading a story in school called something like "The Green Wallpaper" about a woman who went nuts from being poisoned by her Paris green wallpaper. At least that's all I remember. It wasn't a very good story. I've only heard of Paris green being used for interior finishes, though. "Pthalo blue" is the main blue pigment today. In the old days, the only decent strong blue was made from lapis lazuli, which of course was so rare and expensive that only serious professional artists could afford it. All the trouble with other pigments is part of why Henry Ford only painted his cars black.
