My layout has the bed overhanging the back of the chassis by 4". With a 1" gap between the cab and the bed, I estimate the bed will be just over 9'. I've been studying pictures of 6x6s with closed cabs, and I'm not sure it's worth stretching the frame to get an additional 12" of bed length. A longer frame also means a larger turning radius, which could be an issue in town and off-road.
