As you can see it says S series even though it should be V series. The spine says it is for serial numbers starting with XXX-1315000 which is the start of the 1964 model year. The book was printed in July of 1963 which is just before the start of the 1964 model year that would have started in August or September of 1963.
You have to dig deep to figure some of this stuff out. Year ago when I bought my first service manual for my new (to me) 1964 W100 Town Wagon I ended up with the 1963 manual as I didn't know any better. It was months before I learned I had the wrong one.
