I kind of suspected they were snow chain pliers, but I had never seen the big ones, just the little stamped steel ones for automotive snow chains.
I guess the pincers open the links and the bigger jaws close them. Why is it labelled left and right? Is it that confusing?
I guess I won't have much use for them in Southern California. I also have a nice set of heavy snow chains that came with a FFPW. I'll add them to my collection of useless (for me) stuff.
