Yesterday had to drop a big maple tree,60 foot plus.the tree was leaning to the power lines at fifteen degrees.Trick was to pull tree backwards and miss the house and pray the tree not go back and ruin the power line at my expense.
had unwound winch on the 48 till last roll on the spool.had my kid climb the tree and hook cable to chain 25 feet up.for added measure i hooked a large tractor to the back of the power wagon as a anchor.
took a nerve crap and started my opening notch on the tree, took up the slack and pulled the cable tight.did my back cut ran too the power wagon at a idle the winch pulled the tree right over (big tree) we are talking about here .the tree came over rightwere it was supposed too ! the power wagon didnt stutter one bit plenty of power that winch .raised a few eyebrorwes with the nieghbours as well good truck junoir copey
