Just think, all the Ambulances in the picture at the Mound Road Plant. 1000's upon 1000's of other trucks were built back in the day with no Robots. It was all human hands putting them together. And when they did not fit right, human hands had to make it fit.

I have a picture which I must have filed to well, I cant find it. Its the WC-53 Carryall assembly line. The welder is sitting inside the body, a can of welding rod hanging on the body and he is stick welding the sheet metal. I am sure the outside was also stick welded. If you asked that welder why he was not using MIG, he would have asked, What is Mig ? The interior welds in my Carryall were great, no burn through from stick welding.

That was back when the people on the assembly line took REAL pride in their work.
