Flatbeds on Flatfenders?

I'm investigating putting a flatbed on my 53 PW flatfender. I ran across a 9' in pretty good shape for pretty cheap and considering buying & installing it, however:

What considerations do I need to take into account before tackling a project like this? The bed is now on a (79)F350. It appears the correct width & length, but doesn't sit on the frame like it would on the PW. It appears the bed frame would have to be lifted at least 6" to provide adequate tire clearance and maybe even higher if I were to put taller tires on the PW. How is this lift best accomplished? The bed rails are also a little narrower than the PW by a couple of inches. does this matter? Any pointers welcome. Thanks!
