you know more about the details of what is or is not in the metal but spending a few decades with my hands inside 1000s of vehicles I dont see any evidence of superior metallurgy when you compare old Dodge trukcs to something from expecially the 70s. But if you work on a Jeep from 1942 the metal is junk everywhere. the hard parts are like butter. When you disassemble a WC or PW it is rare that botls even break off. Gears usually look shiny and new. dodge quit buying Dana Axles a few years back because or the decline in quality. And in the 40s the metals were probaly mostly a bit more pure being mixed from ores right out of the ground where as now days wouldn't most thing be made from recycled melted down coil steel? woulndn't that inherintly include impurities?
