Thanks for you help. The truck is indeed a 251, 1965 WM300 style.

I have used this truck to haul wood and plow snow in the winter. In spite of being very smoky, especially after starting, it runs pretty well if you can ever get it started.

But It is clearly time for a new engine. I understand you can remove the entire front clip. Any helpful hints on that?
