if i am not mistaken the solar puts the electric into the grid and runs your meter backwards during the day. at night, your meter runs forward. the diff between what you generate and what you use is your bill / credit. i am interested in a full off the grid, stick it to the man solution. i am debating installing a natural gas generator as i believe that if i ever needed if for an extended period of time, that the grid supplying the gas would be down too. paralysis by a____ysis i guess....
