I'm not so sure it is entirerly the fault of studded tires. I think the deice compound eats the concrete and makes it soft so tires will pound it out.
I parked my big truck with the rear bumper hanging over our new garage concrete apron. There was a big dirty pile of snow and ice on the mud flaps that fell of unto the slab. When it melted I later found holes in the concrete 3/4" deep. Now the water freezes there and it is getting worse.
