I have never had a claim on an old truck, but the explanation offered by Keith is true. State Farm told me if I had a claim we would have to establish value, which could involve experts like Dave Butler or (gasp) me.
I have had State Farm since, I believe, 1971. And, no, I don't have any stock in the company, nor do I have relatives who work for them. They have just been a really good company for me.
