OK, ill bite.....

i don't have performance numbers at the ready, i know i have installed them in many of my personal trucks and they do run much better afterwards - easier to start, easier to keep in tune and more responsive. whatever improved performance they provide stays constant compared to points - points wear and spark gets weaker over time. i do know that we installed over 100 units in our business's fleet of home delivery trucks with chevy 366 gas engines. it was the decision of our fleet mechanic who ran them in a test fleet against points and it ELIMINATED points and condenser related problems and maintenance 100%. we went with gm 10si alternators when they became available after similar testing. there was a real performance and mpg increase with the pertronix (they were called something else back then), but the benefit is that there was NO degradation of ignition spark or no ignition related breakdowns after the switch. you CAN adjust stock lockheed brakes to stop on a dime. they stay in adjustment for a short while and then they perform poorly. same with points. if you know how to set them, they are good until they burn, wear, get wet or pit from sitting. that's where the pertronix comes in. they do not suffer from any contact related problems. i believe they provide a hotter spark, but have not tested it in a lab. i know that my helitool discs on all 4 corners with a dual master will perform better and longer than stock brakes. haven't lab tested that either.
