When I got my 1949 B-1 PW it had a Chrysler industrial engine in it. It was still an L-6 but it displaced about 250 ci. Anyway, one day I started it, it never really ran right, and idled it for awhile, then suddenly it stopped with a clunk. Upon further inspection, the #2 piston had cracked and wedged in the cylinder, twisting the connecting rod and destroying the rod journal on the crank. The cylinder was destroyed, the block was cracked and the camshaft was broken in two places. I have no idea why this happened except I later discovered that the intake was cracked, so I wonder if it was running so lean that it burned a piston and seized. It always had great oil pressure.
