Here's a picture of a rig that just came through town. The I-90 freeway viaduct isn't rated for heavy loads, they bring them right through the middle of town and around this very tight corner. This time they banged into the light pole on the inside of the corner and scraped my sidewalk on the other side. It took them over an hour but they managed to jockey it around the corner.

The blue unit is a "National Oilfield Vargo SSGD-1000", which as near as I can tell is some sort of winch. It weighs 475,000 lbs, and the lowboy it's on weighs another 200,000 lbs. Given that it was westbound and there are no oilfields west of here, it must be going to the coast to be loaded on a barge for Alaska, or maybe a ship to somewhere else.
