Nick, I am not familiar with the M101 trailer or the lights it has. If the tail lights are the old style that take a dual filament 6-volt bulb, the sockets may be like those on the early civilian Power-Wagon. The bulbs have two locating pins that slide down slots in the socket. These pins are opposing and directly in line with each other. I get the numbers mixed up, but I believe this is a #1154 bulb. You can remove the bulb, rotate it 180 degrees and reinsert it.

Most if not all dual filament 12-volt bulb have the same two opposing locating pins,
but they are not in line with each other. One is farther from the base than the other. The socket has the same offset and the bulb can only be inserted into the socket one way. It can not be removed, rotated 180 degrees, and reinserted. I believe this bulb is the #1157.

The do make a 6-volt bulb with the offset locating pins (I believe #1158) but I do not know if they make a 12-volt bulb with the pins directly in line with each other. My trucks are 6-volt, so I have never had to search for an alternative 12-volt bulb.

Hope this helps more than it confuses.

Junior
