7.3 Diesel cocerns

I know this isn't the place to discuse the "four letter word",Ford but I couldn't help wondering about that 7.3I've been looking for a Dodge with a Cumings diesel ,but would settle for a '86 through '95 that I've looked at but after reading your input I'm not so sure.Are the earlyer years better and what do I look for?What's that liner they are refering to and are you refering to a crack in the block?
