Norm,
I totally agree. Electrics are not the answer as far as using fossil fuels or coal to produce. All those loose too much in the energy transfer. Solar seems like a good thing but after 30 years it still hasn't made a dent. Hydro plants would be a better investment in my mind.

It takes 9 - 12 gallons of water to produce one gallon of ethanol opposed to 1 - 2 gallons of water needed to produce one gallon of gasoline. That is a whole nother can of worms. Most of the byproducts of a barrel of crude gets used in some way so it is fairly clean in that sense. I'm not up of waste from ethanol but some of it can be fed to livestock. Anyone know???

I'm in no way saying we should switch totally over but it sure would be nice to have a IN COUNTRY alternative so we wouldn't be at the mercy of someone in a castle in the sand. Competition tends to bring the prices down and more reasonable.

By the way. I feel the energy issue is a little more important on the well being of THIS country's economy more than who took steroids to hit a leather ball farther. THAT"S how screwed up we've become in our priorities. Kevin
