10" verses 11 " clutch

Is there any advantage to using the 11 inch cluch verses the older (230) 10" clutch, I am in a situation where I have an 11" clutch with my 251 but a starter from my 230 engine. the ring gear and this starter pinion are not compatible. But, the starter bolts to my 230 bellhousing which I'm currently using. My thought is that the new 11 inch clutch is better (why?, I can't say- but was hoping I could give a confirmation).
