I am finding out the hardway about Vintage diff tools. I will have to make my own. I pulled everthing apart to just to check the gears and replace bearings. What a shock I got. The big inside bearings on the pinion were blown up so the pinion itself has been riding on the case for at least 40 years. I have never seen anything chewed up like this.
I am going to have to post pics of it this week. The diff. case and cap are destroyed. The 4.89 ring and pinion destroyed. It looks like someone already used a chisel on the retaining nut. Alot of work ahead.I have the wrenches but I think I will draft a design for the tool and make one. I will keep all up to date on the tool.
