Ever seen what a propane engine looks like when you take them apart? Clean, clean, clean.
No carbon. Almost all the taxis around here are either propane or natural gas & they claim they run for twice as many miles as the same engines run on gas.
I've never had a propane vehicle so I can't verify that but that's what they claim!
