Hate to tell you this Ron but not all Dodges are trucks are built in Mexico.

The 99 CTD I ordered was built in Mexico and I was a little nervous when the salesman told me where it was going to be built.

He told me that they have more quality control inspectors in Mexico than they do in Fenton, MO and they tend to have less problems with the trucks that come out of Mexico.

In the 185,000 plus miles that I owned the only problems I had were with the injection pump and 5th gear, which are very common problems anyway.

A friend of mine that I used to work with ordered a truck just like mine and his was built in Fenton, MO.

The first time cold weather came he plugged his truck in and it didn't start in the morning.

He had it towed to the dealer and it turned out the heat grid system was not hooked up right from the factory.

The first warm weather he went to turn on the AC and that also was not hooked up properly from the factory.

There were a few other electrical items that were not hooked up.

One other thing, whenever he put the truck in 4 wheel drive it made a terrible growling noise from the front end.

They tried to find the problem but couldn't and they ended up putting a new front end and transfer case in the truck. Seemed to cure the growling noise.

Funny thing is he always used to give me crap since my truck was built in Mexico saying it was going to be a P.O.S and I never had near the problems he did.

I would not have any problem buying a truck built in Mexico. My Red 1993 Club Cab was also built in Mexico and I haven't had half the problems others have had with their 1st generations trucks.

This is just what I know. Matt
