It's worth the trouble to try and find a older US made machine, look under "used equipment" online or in the yellow pages. Don't worry about the motor or electrical stuff, this can all be changed at any Grainger to match what power you have. I spent several months looking for my work place, not much left in the US, Delta and Wilton both left and went to China in the last year. I would say Joe hit it right on the head, low speed is the best for any metal work, the other thing that is nice is if the spindle is Morse taper, it's eaiser to replace any existing drill chuck
