Ok, so I went and checked out the supposed $40,000 \, 1,800 mi. Powerwagon for sale in Ashland Massachusetts. Turns out $50,000 is the tentative asking price- Yikes!
It appears to be about as billed- dirty and covered with oil/undercoating but absolutely all there. Seats and visors covered in plastic.
The guy also has tons of spare parts that go with the truck. (He will not sell them separately, I asked!)
He had it cranked up when I got there- It ran smoothly but had clearly been dormant for a while.

If a smart person can tell me how, I'll post some pictures.
The bottom line is that, while this is indeed a rare find, it would take a fair bit of work to
make this thing shine. The owner, who bought this truck new, seems like a good guy but is very firm on
his decision to keep his truck if he can't get $40-50K. My guess is that he will be enjoying his truck for a long while.

To me, this would be a dream come true at $5,000 and perhaps worth up to $12,000 with all of it's parts to a motivated buyer.
What do you folks think? I am allways curious to see what the consensus is on the appropriate value of our trucks.

Sincerely:

David Hogan
