Early 435's had a 1 1/8" 10 spline (if memory serves)
input shaft while the later used a smaller input shaft
with a fine spline. There are two different bearing
retainers as well, the narrow retainers were prone to
breaking due to stress imposed by the throwout bearing.
You can use the larger retainer and t/o bearing with
the small shaft, but bigger is better.
