winches

This subject has gotten a lot of attention over the years. Whats good or bad. I know some of you have installed Hydraulic Mile Marker winches. Have any of you wished you would have done something different. Have you had any problems with them? What size has been the most common? Would use orignal but change trans. and don't know if i can find pto that would work with it. Thanks
