No doubt about it. The PTO unit is going to pull until something moves or breaks. I would go PTO, considering the risks involved in all options. I've owned at least 25 trucks with PTO winches and never was I stranded because the engine didn't run. I had one Warn electric winch. I got my truck really stuck and the winch got so hot the caps blew out of the top of the battery. JH
