I'm finally ready to tow my M37, was going to leave tonight so I could drive mostly at night and not hold up traffic. I figured I'd pull off the front hubs so as to reduce the drag and heat in the front diff. I was going to just tape some plastic over the end to keep it clean, but it's good weather so it probably wouldn't even need that. I guess I wasn't thinking right because the shaft flops around in there without the hub to hold it in place. I guess I should have tried to get some cheap lockers, even though after this the truck will probably never see a highway. The question is this: will I do serious damage if I tow it with the hubs off and the shafts just sticking out loose? Is it real hard to take the stub shafts out? I've had the front hubs and shafts of my M35s torn apart, but never the M37.
