It isn't 'fake' as such, because it's made of real stuff and if it ran over your foot it would hurt.

Some of the numbers don't add up, and some point in odd directions, so the first question is, 'what does it look like'

It looks like a T207 open cab winch frame, with a 1.5 ton 1939 cab dropped on it. That would match the T207 engine code too.

The front end is '39, as it has the '39 trim, and I think around then the Civilian Conservation Corps were actually buying more trucks than the real army. There wasn't a truck called the TE 20 anyway, so the closest would be a 1939 1.5 ton 4 x 2 TE 31.

The numbers are interesting too. The number given as the VIN doesn't match anything, not even the right body tag for the TE 31 civilian which would be M-4-6, but the 8288210 number does match the TE series of 1939 trucks. M-1-2 might be CCC / Army specific.

I think it's a standard half ton, with a 1939 TE 31 cab, probably with a 'CCC' number on the hood, and the numbers he quotes are from a cab tag on the door pillar.
I have a pic of a '39 TE CCC truck here somewhere which I'll attach. Note the way the larger cutouts on the fenders are better suited to the larger wheels, and the fact that the fuel filler is behind the cab where the hole is on this one. The cab and front end would be nice to have. Eric could probably find another '39 lower section to replace the butchered one.

Want to bet that if you check the chassis it'll have an 86xxxxx number on the front of it?
