Dealer’s secrets revealed. Well let me give some insight about aftermarket parts business from a MoPar dealer. Lets take a Brake Light Switch MoPar part # 920355. I have seen this in recent catalogs for $12.50- $15.00. Well people listen up. This is a standard hydraulic switch. This same switch also can be used to operate a motor hour meter when hooked to the engine oil galley. It is a stock, that right stock item in parts stores. I will give you the numbers and you can see for your self. NAPA # SL 113 Heavy-duty eyelet terminal, SL134 push on terminal, SL 135 Snap in terminal, SL 136 Polarized push on terminal. These are ALL available and not at $12.50-$15.00 but rather for about $4.00. Am I starting to sound like on of those infomercials!! These are NAPA numbers but any store can cross them.

Now for the dealers secret. Most dealers buy these from the parts store and repackage them and sell them to you as NOS, which is not really lying as they are a Wagner part and Chrysler never made these but purchased them from Wagner, and they make $10.00 on it. How do I know this? I was taught this by another dealer (NO JOE I WILL NOT MENTION A NAME BECAUSE THE GUY IS DECEASED) , and I used to do this until my morals got the better of me. Now I just tell people about it and let them save money.

Next time I will tell you about the $12.50 Pilot bushing, in a catalog, for the 218/230 that you can get from the parts store for $0.59. Now that is a saving!
