I'm in Fairbanks. What kind of fish are you hunting? Kings? Halibut? Silvers? Salmon Shark? Kings are great in the Galkana River from mid May to mid June, there are some Reds in there also. That time of the run they aren't eating any longer so the only way you can get them to strike is to make em mad. Shark fishing is great all summer long down in Valdez. Salmon Sharks are part of the Mako family and are about 7-9 foot long. Halibut is good out of Valdez also, same with the silvers. That would be my stomping ground, don't know much about the Anchorage or Homer.
