My buddy has a new 2003 6.0 diesel Ford and he hates it. He had the 2002 7.3 diesel before it and that was a really good powerplant. With his new 6.0 diesel it seems to spend a lot of time in the shop with drivability problems. However when it is running it is very strong. It is tough to compare the 6.0 ford to my 2003 dodge H.O. diesel because of the differences in the transmissions. I towed home my 47 PW from New Mexico with my 2003 Dodge Diesel and it would pull a 6% grade on cruise control and not lose any speed. I didn't go over 75 mph because the engine felt like it was reving to high for my liking. I'm glad I never got the 4:10 axle.
