I don't have SAE access to those papers either, but they might be available through: www.eng-tips.com Not sure about that availability. The information is current, Norm, as in right now today. Ehrenburg has steadfastly refused to retract that appraisal of DOT 5 even though many have challenged him over the last several years. The only links he has provided are in the article, as citations of SAE papers on Automotive Fluid Properties. He still uses it in everything, and most of the racers he sets up, including world class Euro Rally, SCCA, AHRA, NHRA record holders and other vehicles use it too. That's all I've got..... JimmieD
