Message:   Per the book. Poly 318-1 is mechanical, 318-2 & 3 is hydraulic.
I'm not aware that ANY 318-3 was offered in cars, it's the HD engine.
The nomenclature may have changed for the LA, these are Poly specs.
Most cars had the 318-1 and some with type 318-2, that's why you can find both types of lifters in car motors.
NO 318-3 had solid lifters.
