The Dutch, right after WW2 converted WC54 ambulances for use in their army. They removed the square front sheet metal and replaced it with a Power wagon front end, ie radiator shell, hood, windshield (2 window swing out) and cut the cab to fit the ambulance box. They also used European type auto fuses (torpeodo type) in the electrical system. Later on they converted from 230 to 251 (here we go again) engines with a 12 volt alternator. My son purchased one from a fire dept. at auction--a dynamite vehicle with the 251! Last offer for the vehicle was $9800.00 painted FD RED.
