Vaughn,
Easy tiger-I bought 2 transmissions from a guy who was selling leftover parts. One was a 1955 non synchro and one was a NP 420.
Somewhere along the line before I bought them, the front bearing retainers had been swapped.
Being uninformed about 70 year old truck transmissions, I was looking for a bellhousing that doesn't exist until I figured out the front bearing retainers are interchangeable.
