The wood pattern in the second series changed in 1951. Some early 1951 trucks had the same bed wood as the first series beds. My truck built in the spring of 51 has the early style bed wood. Trucks from later 51 have the later bed wood style. I believe that have seen somewhere the truck serial number where this change occurred. Dodge made the change to the second series bed in 1951 but apparently had a stockpile of the early style bed wood that they wanted to use up.
