My grandfather had lots of cordless tools, long before Makita, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Harbor Freight.
Saws, drills, planes, sanders. I still have his cordless miter box. I actually used it to trim a couple of houses years ago.
I remember he had a table saw that he made with an electric motor, and a couple of pulleys and a belt. He didn't have a welder or anything. Just built it with parts he had saved from other stuff.
