Using the VPW runs on my vent window doors I find that I need to open up the channels a little bit. You can test the window to channel fit on the bench. If it does not slide it won't get "better" installed. I have some hard round lengths of steal from worn out shocks. I cradle the round rod in/on the length of the channel (like a hot dog on a bun). Then hammer the round into the channel. This forces it to open or spread a little. I get a nice even opening. It worked for mine! Pipe etc. could do the same. Do small changes then test the fit. Sometimes you may need to pry the rod out with a large screw driver.
