A cutting torch will do the job, but I would not recommend it if you are not experienced with using it. And, if you were, you wouldn't be asking. :)
Use the approach from above as the other two suggestions. You might be able to find a burr type grinder that will fit in a drill that might be less likely to damage the bed.
