I have a '52 Dodge 2-ton with split rear end; (5.83 & 8.11 to 1). It cruses very nicely at 60MPH (the state speed limit for trucks) on the flat & I've had it up to 72 mph going up a slight incline. It has a 250 in it with headers and original carb. If you are interested in keeping the period technology I'd suggest slipping a 250 or 265 in it. It wont be a hot-rod, but you might be surprised at the performance.
