Yeah, I went into O'Reilly's to get a bottle of Motor Honey and the the clerk working said he never heard of the stuff, so I looked and found it myself. You can't always assume just because an employee is old they are knowledgeable or been with a company for a long time, people do transfer jobs, and not all companies serviced these trucks. It probably comes down to where they were used in good numbers by the Forestry, Ranchers and Farmers and where they had their other equipment serviced.

I'm not making a case for a Spur Gear 420, guys that have worked on the spur gear and compared the spur gear to the NP420 in size, and not having a name for the spur gear, they probably just called that to distinguish between the two types is my guess. This isn't something you'll find in every truck shop across the Nation but if you encounter it, you have some idea what a spur gear 420 is if referenced as such.
