I have 2 different sets of the lock ring type rims.
The early set (61) will seat the tire bead at 15 psi. Nice and easy. The later set (68) does not seat the tire bead until 40 to 65 psi - VERY SCARY. The difference is the "safety bead retension ring". The purpose of the retension ring is to prevent the tire bead from coming loose if the tire flats at speed. If your rims have the "safety ring" (66 or newer) these rims can be can be a real problem. Breaking the bead and reseating the bead can be a real challege. I will be keeping the early rims and dumping the newer ones. I don't drive the truck that fast (or far) anyway.
