Doug - as with most things, it depends on the person, and who they are as a human being (upbringing, culture, era).
Not a combat myself, but had an Army career, and currently work with some Vietnam vets. One guy can not STAND those little (fill-in-the-blank with as many explatives and stereotypical names as you can). Another guy here, Vietnam combat vet, works daily with the young Vietnamese folks we have here. His theory is that they didn't want to be in the jungle getting shot at any more than he wanted to be there getting shot at and shooting. Two governments usuing pawns to play a bloody (expensive) game.
