The rear crossmember that is at the front spring mount is a box section. Welded in. Very rigid. The double layer of the frame ends one inch shy of it. All of the frame twist/flex happens right in that one inch. It's called a "stress riser". Plus the front frame member is also boxed and welded in. Two rigid sections with one flex point. Bound to fatigue. Especially if further rigidization happens by adding more and bigger rear bumpers. And welded accouterments to the front bumper.
