hey everyone,thanks for the advice. block has been flushed twice,radiator cap has been tested,(this is the 2nd one we've had put on).yep there is a tranny cooler(2 of them),hose does have the wire coil inside you guys mentioned.tranny & transfer case have been rebuilt for towing heavy loads,vacume advance is new,distributer has new parts,timing set at 9*- under hood it says to set it at 8-12*- we set it at 11 but heard pinging,dropped it to 8*,pinging went away.like I said, just about everything has been replaced or rebuilt,and the head gaskets are the next project.
we live in Lake Havasu,the temps here got to 125* last summer,and it's only 106 yesterday, so this truck's gotta run cooler.
any tips for the hubby for the head gasket project ? michelle
